Ganeden Biotech Inc., Cleveland, said it expanded its Walmart-exclusive enLiven yogurt line by launching single-serve six-ounce yogurts in five varieties: plain, blueberry, peach, strawberry and vanilla. The low-cost probiotic yogurts feature GanedenBC30 probiotics to help support digestive and immune system health.
The new products are initially rolling out at Walmart stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, Ganeden said. They complement the brand's four-packs sold in 4-ounce cups.
The plain 6-ounce enLiven yogurt is 130 calories per serving and contains 6 grams protein, 22 grams carbohydrates, 2 grams fat and 95 milligrams sodium, the company added, while the four flavored cups have 160 calories per serving and contain 5 grams protein, 30 grams carbohydrates and 100 milligrams sodium. Suggested retail price is $0.78 per cup.
"January is an ideal time to launch new delicious and nutritious low-fat foods like yogurt because people are more focused on eating food that is good for their health, but also affordable," said Carl Freund, executive vice president of Ganeden Consumer Brands. "enLiven is a young and growing U.S. yogurt brand that is proud to support Walmart's healthy food initiative with our entire yogurt line with beneficial probiotics."
